.

Though not of Imperial quality, a nice example from the official (government) kiln during the Guangxu reign. The mark reads, top to bottom right to left, Guan Xu Guan Yao or Guangxu Government Kiln.

The center features a flaming pearl surrounded by a finely detailed five-clawed dragon within flames and clouds.  A rice patterned glaze effect runs to an outer band containing four bats separated by stylized clouds. The inside rim decorated with a simple key-fret border. Surrounding the footrim on the underside is a band of alternating light and dark banana leaves. Several small rim chips and one 2.5 cm. crack on one plate. Thumbnails are showing select views taken from both plates.
