Ming Dynasty
15th Century Blue and White Bowl

14.2 centimeters diameter, 7.3 centimeters height
Fine condition

Decoration featuring an aquatic scene, possibly a lotus pond. Four carp swimming among delicate strands of water-fern and other various underwater plants. Different shades of wash within a finely detailed outline. The interior with a band below the lip of a trellis-diaper type pattern similar to that found on earlier Yuan ware.

This delicate bowl was excavated from a site on the border between China and Burma.
