Late Yuan / Early Ming


12.7 centimeters diameter, 6.2 centimeters height

Fair Condition

Exterior decorated with traditional deer and crane motif, the interior with a crane encircled with three lotus plants within a double circle. This bowl is either early Ming or possibly Yuan Dynasty.  The marking is of the older script normally found in Yuan and early Ming writings.  Pronounced Fu, it reads 'rich, abundant, wealth'.

Note: The deep foot is a definite characteristic of  the Yuan and early Ming Dynasty bowls, being that it is not just deep, but wedge shaped with the widest point being where it meets the base of the bowl.
